This conference examines the next steps for reform of the initial teacher training (ITT) system in England.
It is being held at a crucial time for the future of ITT provision, with a number of policy developments underway.
These include the publication by the Department for Education of a new core content framework to be used by ITT providers to inform the curriculum design for their programmes, based on the recommendations of a government-commissioned expert group review into the content of initial teacher training.
This seminar will be an early opportunity to review the new framework and consider its implications for providers.
The conference also takes place as Ofsted consults on its new Initial Teacher Education (ITE) inspection framework, which is intended to align with the new education inspection framework and introduce a new quality of education and training judgement with a focus on the ITE curriculum.
