This seminar considered the impact of the UK’s new Industrial Strategy, and the priorities ahead for its implementation.
It followed the publication of the Industrial Strategy white paper, which set out the Government’s aims to develop economic growth, build on the country’s existing industrial strengths and response to technological change.
Sessions assessed the challenges and opportunities that the strategy posed for stakeholders, and its implications for key areas of the economy - looking at areas such as skills, innovation, infrastructure, regional growth and productivity. Delegates also considered Government’s approach to specific markets, following the launch of new Sector Deals with construction, artificial intelligence, automotive and life science industries. Further sessions focused on the impact of Brexit on trade, workforce and economic growth in the context of ongoing negotiations with the European Union.
