On the day delegates considered how measures set out in the Industrial Strategy White Paper can best work to support the sector’s growth - including proposals to develop skills, regional clusters, and the commercialisation of research - and discussed what further initiatives are needed from policymakers to support the industry ahead of the expected launch of the space industry sector deal.
They also examined key questions ahead for the development of commercial spaceports and spaceflight, following the introduction of the Space Industry Act. Further sessions assessed the potential impact of Brexit on the sector’s global competiveness, and key issues for improving the availability of investment and funding in the sector.
