This timely seminar examined key issues for copyright policy in the UK, and took place as the European Parliament voted against the proposed copyright directive.
Following the publication of the Creative Industries Sector Deal, delegates also assessed latest thinking on helping creative businesses to extract value from their IP - looking at rights management and the potential of technologies such as AI and blockchain.
Further sessions focused on what more can be done to tackle piracy - with current thinking on improving education and public awareness, legal measures and enforcement - and in light of extra funding for the Get It Right awareness campaign and plans for new codes of practice to address copyright infringement of online content.
