This conference focused on the next steps for online advertising regulation in the UK.
It was an opportunity to discuss key issues emerging from the Government’s consultation on the Online Advertising Programme (OAP), and priorities for the online advertising sector, its customers, partners, and the public - as well as the Government’s response to feedback.
We are pleased to have been able to include keynote sessions with Ruth Wye, Head of Online Advertising Programme, Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport; Guy Parker, Chief Executive Officer, Advertising Standards Authority; and Stephen Almond, Director of Technology and Innovation, ICO.
Overall, areas for discussion included:

- stakeholder priorities - sector responsibilities - what is needed to implement an agile framework - delivering safety and support for consumers - innovation and competition in the future
- the impact of wider policy developments in areas such as online safety legislation in the UK - the EU’s Digital Services Act
- issues around data, privacy, body image and influencer culture - defining harmful content - latest thinking on how concerns can be addressed
