Next steps for developing NHS estates

May 2017

Starting from: £99 + VAT
Format: DOWNLOADABLE PDF

The seminar considered further steps for developing NHS estates.

It followed the publication of the NHS property and estates: Naylor review, which set out priorities to enable the estate to support transformation in the NHS - including establishing an NHS Property Board.

It also followed the publication of NHS England’s Next steps on the Five Year Forward view, which noted goals to free space for 26,000 new homes by releasing surplus NHS land and to ensure every CCG has a planned estates strategy.

Delegates assessed progress and remaining issues in upgrading primary care infrastructure as outlined in the General Practice Forward View - including plans to invest £900m in practices and enable NHS England to fund up to 100 percent of the costs for premises developments - as well as the influence of the Carter Review on estate management and procurement, and opportunities for devolving responsibility for estates and asset use.
