May 2022

Price: £150 PLUS VAT

This conference focused on initial teacher training in England, and next steps for providers as they began to prepare for the reaccreditation process following the ITT market review.

It followed the publication of the Government’s response to the review, with requirements for training curricula and their scope beyond core content, placements, and mentoring structures.

Stakeholders and policymakers discussed latest thinking and issues for implementation on curriculum design, the provision of school placements, and the development and coordination of mentoring.

The conference was also an opportunity to consider:

  • the future of ITT partnerships, including the identification of new partners
  • the development of quality assurance arrangements
  • the future structure of the sector

We are pleased to have been able to include keynote contributions from the chair of the ITT Market Review Group, Ian Bauckham, CEO Tenax Schools Trust; Professor Samantha Twiselton, Member, ITT Market Review Group; and Director, Sheffield Institute of Education, Sheffield Hallam University, and Dr Martin Hagan, Head of Education, St. Mary’s University College.

The conference was an opportunity for stakeholders to consider the issues alongside key policy officials who attended from the DfE; Ofsted; and the Welsh Government.
