This conference will bring out latest thinking on developing enterprise and entrepreneurship in higher education.
Areas for discussion include:
- Embedding enterprise in the curriculum;
- Supporting student start-ups and increasing diversity; and
- How universities can better support student entrepreneurs.
It will be an opportunity to consider significant policy developments and priorities for the new government.
It will be an opportunity for delegates to consider the interim findings of the Princes Trust Review - commissioned by government - which is considering the barriers preventing young people from starting up a business and will propose measures to support enterprising young people from all backgrounds.
The agenda looks at regional barriers to students becoming entrepreneurs - and what universities and others can do to drive forward growth in entrepreneurial activities in different areas of the country.
A further context for discussion is the government target for a 50% increase in the number of female entrepreneurs in the UK by 2030, following the recommendations of the Alison Rose Review of Female Entrepreneurship, which called on the business community to increase the resources available to education providers, including universities, to teach about starting a business.
