This seminar discussed the next steps for the development of regional creative economies - as well as their role in the wider social and economic growth of the UK.
It took place following the publication of an Independent Review, led by Sir Peter Bazalgette, which sets out proposals for an Industrial Strategy early sector deal with the creative industries, and recommends further support to promote regional growth in the industry.
Sessions examined key priorities for encouraging cross-sector collaboration, stimulating investment, and addressing skill shortages and talent retention, as well as options for reviewing fiscal frameworks, funding and business support in light of devolution.
Further sessions assessed the contribution of the sector to wider local socio-economic growth and the part it plays in placemaking - including serving regional audiences, delivering representational content and encouraging local engagement.
Delegates also considered the future position of the regions in the international market and their role in maximising the global reach of the sector, including the development of export capabilities and supporting new trade relationships with emerging markets.
