Policymakers and stakeholders at this seminar discussed key issues in pharmaceutical pricing, access to medicines and transparency.
With findings from the Accelerated Access Review being published later in 2016, delegates at this seminar assessed the challenge of increasing access to new and innovative treatments, as well as progress on the Government’s current Pharmaceutical Pricing Regulation Scheme (PPRS), and plans to introduce a ‘Sunshine Rule’ to regulate the relationship between health professionals and the pharmaceutical industry.
Further sessions focused on priorities for the development of flexible, outcomes-based pricing arrangements beyond Value-Based Pricing (VBP); current issues with the NICE appraisal process; and assessing new approaches to access such as the MHRA’s Early Access to Medicines Scheme.
