Next steps for reducing food and packaging waste across the UK - consumer behaviour, innovation and energy recovery

October 2017

Starting from: £99 + VAT
Format: DOWNLOADABLE PDF

This seminar brought together policymakers and key stakeholders across the food supply chain to discuss the next steps for reducing food and packaging waste in the UK.

Sessions discussed the way forward for avoidable waste prevention, including changing consumer behaviour, promoting further collaboration and innovation across the food industry, challenges for the hospitality sector, and priorities for meeting WRAP’s Courtald Commitment 2025 to reduce resource consumption in the food supply chain by 20% by 2025.

Further sessions assessed priorities for promoting and enforcing the waste hierarchy, as well as investment challenges and opportunities for more sustainable waste management practices. The agenda also looked at the lessons that can be learnt from the action being taken by devolved administrations across the UK, as well as the approaches of other countries - with a case study from the Danish Government.
