Bringing together national and regional stakeholders with policymakers, this conference was an opportunity to consider the implementation and implication of health and social care devolution deals on communities across England.
With the Cities and Local Government Devolution Act setting out the legislative framework for individual devolution deals, attendees considered the practicalities for joint decision making between local authorities and Clinical Commissioning Groups, as well as challenges for taking on responsibilities from NHS England and other national health bodies.
There was also discussion on early indications for devolved services in Greater Manchester, lessons learnt from London’s five devolution pilots, and progress on other deals across the country.
