Scheduled in the context of the development of London’s new Police and Crime Plan, following the election of London’s new Mayor, this conference brought together key policymakers and stakeholders to assess the outlook for crime and policing in London.
Discussion reflected the unique challenges facing London’s crime and policing strategy - particularly in areas such as transport crime, gangs, counter-terrorism and cyber security. Sessions also examined challenges for the Metropolitan Police in relation to areas such as efficiency, workforce and public confidence.
The seminar was further informed by national policy developments affecting policing in London, including Government’s Policing and Crime Bill, and planned increases in the counter-terrorism budget.
This conference brought together policymakers with frontline stakeholders from across policing, prisons, probation and court services, as well as a range of interested stakeholders, including charities, private security companies and service providers, local authorities, community groups, business associations, consultants and commentators.
