Delegates at this seminar considered the future of England’s careers system, with a careers strategy expected to be published. Sessions addressed the priorities for implementation, further action that might need to be taken by government, schools and employers, and the role for careers in the wider Industrial Strategy.
Delegates also considered the challenges schools face in improving their careers offer to students, including support for careers leaders, ensuring access to impartial information about Apprenticeships and technical education, and issues around resourcing and budgets.
The seminar brought together policymakers with key stakeholders including schools, representatives of employers and trade associations, careers advisors, universities, FE colleges and training providers, academics, and members of the national and trade press.
