This conference provided a timely opportunity to discuss challenges and next steps for delivering NHS England’s New Models of Care programme.
Delegates assessed progress in meeting Department of Health targets for new models of care to cover at least half of England’s population by 2020, and the role the programme will play in supporting the Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships.
Further areas for discussion included challenges in contracting and governing new systems, the potential of vanguards to reduce pressures on general practice, as well as the impact of the new models of care on patient care, choice and experience.
