This conference brought together policymakers and key stakeholders to discuss electricity market reform, as the new Parliament began its work.
Delegates assessed the future of the Contracts for Difference regime and the Capacity Market auctions in the context of energy investment in the UK, following announcements that the European Commission is investigating Member State aid for energy supplies, as well as the practical and financial challenges of delivering EMR.
Further sessions also focused on what more can be done to ensure the UK has the capacity to support growing energy demand, and the future of low carbon electricity generation and the next steps for policy.
