This seminar considered the future of the claims management sector at a time of significant regulatory reform.
It was scheduled to follow the introduction of a revised framework of regulatory enforcement across the Claims Management Company (CMC) sector, and also came as the Legal Ombudsman took over the CMC customer complaints scheme.
Sessions brought together prominent CMCs and legal practitioners working across regulated claims sectors - including personal injury and financial products litigation - alongside representatives from insurers, marketing firms, banks, business associations and consumer groups, and members of trade and national press.
Delegates had the opportunity to discuss the challenges following the implementation of the new customer complaints framework; progress and priorities for addressing problems of malpractice in PPI claims; and key issues surrounding wider regulated activity, such as direct marketing and the referral fee ban.
