This seminar looked at next steps for the delivery, commissioning and funding of palliative and end of life care.
It followed the Leadership Alliance for the Care of Dying People's response to the More Care, Less Pathway review, which set out standards of care that end of life patients and their families should expect to receive - including more emphasis on giving tailored, compassionate care.
Sessions focused on the impact of the Care Act on funding and care delivery, progress and priorities for commissioners in improving outcomes and integrating services, as well as next steps for improving hospital care in light of Royal College of Physicians and Marie Curie audit on care of the dying in hospitals.
