This seminar provided an opportunity to consider next steps for the development of UK agricultural technology, and for implementing the Government's key priorities of supporting new technologies, building a stronger skills base, and providing strong leadership to the sector.
Timed one year on from the release of the UK Agricultural Technologies Strategy, setting out how government and industry should work together to make the UK a world leader in agri-tech, delegates discussed the potential of the £70m Agri-tech Catalyst to fund innovative projects from laboratory to market, as well as what more can be done to meet targets for economic growth and increasing UK agri-tech exports.
The agenda was structured to bring out the latest thinking on the approaches currently being pursued and what more needs to be done in order to support industry in harnessing the latest technological innovations to help modernise British farming and increase food production in a sustainable way.
