This seminar provided an opportunity to assess the impact of personal budgets on the commissioning and delivery of services in health and care, with the Chief Executive of the NHS setting out plans for integrated personal budgets from April 2015.
Following the passing of the Care Act - which sets out a new legal right for everyone with a care and support plan to have a personal budget - delegates discussed the role of Clinical Commissioning Groups, local authorities and NHS England in delivering personalised care.
Further sessions also looked at patient eligibility in accessing personal budgets, the effect of service integration in health and social care, and its impact on health outcomes.
