Bringing together key policymakers and stakeholders, this seminar focused on the future of the family justice system in England and Wales, at a time of significant reform and restructure. It was scheduled as policymakers took forward wide-ranging measures impacting on both public and private family law included in the Children and Families Act, and as stakeholders responded to the creation of a single Family Court.
Sessions focused on the next steps for implementing Government's programme of reform in this area - with latest thinking on the future use of judicial time limits and expert reports in proceedings - and what more can be done to simplify and modernise an evolving family justice framework. Delegates considered key changes being implemented across private law, with particular reference to ongoing measures being taken forward to develop cooperative parenting and wider support services for separating and separated parents.
