Television convergence: multi-screens, connected TVs and secondary rights

April 2013

Starting from: £99 + VAT
Format: DOWNLOADABLE PDF

This seminar examined the emerging challenges and the opportunities created by PC/TV convergence for broadcasters. It came as YouView, subscription video services - such as Netflix, LOVEFiLM and Now TV - and connected television ownership blurred the boundaries of what could be considered 'television'.
Sessions focused on the emerging opportunities of 'Social TV' for broadcasters to add value to linear viewing and gain insight into audiences, how connected TVs and set-top-boxes were changing competition in the broadcast television market - particularly in the context of the launch of Now TV and investment in original content by Netflix and YouTube - and the impact of VoD, catch-up and streaming services on the value of content and secondary rights.
