Delegates at this seminar examined the developments in policy and commercial practice in the use of data by private and public organisations.
As well as looking at the commercial and public service opportunities, sessions focused on the technical and legal challenges - including the implications of the 'right to be forgotten' - as the European Union reviewed the Data Protection Legal Framework, and as the UK Government attempted to open up public sector data to wider use. Delegates also considered options to empower users to make informed decisions, increase transparency and counter fears about the collection and use of data.
