Shortly after every Westminster eForum seminar, a briefing document is produced. This is distributed to all delegates on the day as well as to our contacts in government, Parliament and stakeholders more widely.

A seminar publication provides a timely record of proceedings, and acts as a guide to the latest thinking on current policy issues for those unable to be at the event.

Each publication includes:

  • All speeches from the day, with accompanying slides and speaker biographies
    (subject to approval by speaker);
  • Transcripts of question and comment sessions;
  • Supplementary articles from speakers and delegates; and
  • Event information such as the delegate list and final agenda

IPTV, connected televisions and the future set top box - addressing the technical challenges

This publication is CPD certified

As YouView prepared to launch, and with the new generation of broadband enabled set top boxes and connected televisions set to hit the shelves, this seminar examined the challenges posed by the 'connected home'. Sessions examined the new capabilities and opportunities that are created by connected set top boxes, issues around 3rd party widgets and applications piggy-backing on content providers and, with the imminent launch of the UltraViolet platform in Europe, if closed or open standards are in the long-term interests of the IPTV platform.
