This seminar focused on the new challenges for leadership in public sector organisations, and considered the issues of, and opportunities for, increased co-operation with outside bodies. It came as public sector organisations faced renewed pressures to develop innovative ways of working in order to continue to deliver high-quality public services at a lower cost. With a keynote presentation on innovation in leadership from Dame Lynne Brindley, Chief Executive, British Library, and further case studies, sessions looked at the drivers for innovation in the public sector, the impact on resources and finances, examples of partnerships and best practice for public and private organisations working together, and the advantages and disadvantages of increased links between the public and private sector.
