Westminster eForum

Innovation and leadership in the public sector

May 2010

This seminar focused on the new challenges for leadership in public sector organisations, and considered the issues of, and opportunities for, increased co-operation with outside bodies. It came as public sector organisations faced renewed pressures to develop innovative ways of working in order to continue to deliver high-quality public services at a lower cost. With a keynote presentation on innovation in leadership from Dame Lynne Brindley, Chief Executive, British Library, and further case studies, sessions looked at the drivers for innovation in the public sector, the impact on resources and finances, examples of partnerships and best practice for public and private organisations working together, and the advantages and disadvantages of increased links between the public and private sector.

Shortly after every Westminster eForum seminar, a briefing document is produced. This is distributed to all delegates on the day as well as to our policymaker contacts in government, and to stakeholders more widely.

A seminar publication provides a timely record of proceedings, and acts as a guide to the latest thinking on current policy issues for those unable to be at the event.
