As the UK National Strategy for Outward Mobility phase one is due to be completed later this year, this seminar examined progress with its implementation and next steps.
It also provided an early opportunity to discuss the impact of the referendum result on the UK’s involvement with the Erasmus+ programme.
Delegates considered how best to further address the major barriers to outward mobility, including language issues, funding and access. The seminar also brought together examples of best practice in fostering relationships between UK universities and their counterparts abroad, particularly beyond the EU, with transatlantic partners and key emerging economies.
The seminar brought together key policymakers, along with university leaders, employability services, finance providers, embassies, High Commissions and other international bodies, businesses and internship providers as well as academics and other interested parties.
