Following the announcement of the agreed EU Network and Information Security Directive, as well as a number of high profile breaches, this seminar was a timely opportunity to discuss the next steps for cyber security in the UK. Delegates examined developments and priorities in the regulatory, policy and legal spheres, and considered how policymakers, industry and the education system should address challenges including the skills shortfall. As well as analysing the UK’s response to threats and key vulnerabilities, further areas for discussion included best practice in building cyber resilience into systems at every stage of development and challenging complacent organisation cultures. Sessions also assessed the common issues which face UK industry as well as the sector-specific challenges for key industries.
