Guest of Honour: Stephen Crowne, Chief Executive, Becta
This seminar will offer a timely opportunity to examine the use of information and communication technology (ICT) within Britain's schools, and to assess to what extent the promised benefits are being realised in terms of efficiency, pupil attainment and value for money.
The agenda also looks more widely to the educational impact of ICT in homes, at the record of policy to increase home access to technology and at the effect that this is having on reducing inequalities between learners.
We are delighted that Stephen Crowne, Chief Executive, Becta will be delivering a keynote address at this seminar.
Steve Beswick, Senior Director for Education, Microsoft UK; David Braben, Founder, Frontier Developments; David Moran, Operational Director of Information, Specialist Schools and Academies Trust; Tony Nicholson, Headteacher, Hodgson School, Lancashire; Dr Rachel O’Connell, former Vice President, AOL and Social Media Strategist; Raj Patel, Assistant Director of Research and Policy, LSN; Dr Vanessa Pittard, Director, E-Strategy, Becta; Marco Ramsay, Deputy Headteacher, London Fields Primary School; Terry Ring, Former Home Access Pilot Lead, Suffolk; Terry Sweeney, Chief Executive Officer, RM; Christine Terrey, Headteacher, Grays Infants School; and Valerie Thompson, Chief Executive, e-Learning Foundation will also be speaking at this event.
