This seminar will bring out the latest thinking on nutrition in health and social care, and consider the next steps required for improving nutritional care to deliver better healthcare outcomes. Sessions will cover the importance of improving nutritional care in saving lives, as well as helping to conserve the health service's resources. Discussions will take place in the context of major changes to the NHS and the introduction of public spending constraints, and will refer to the role of nutrition in hospitals as part of supporting the Coalition Government's stated aim of promoting a patient-led NHS - including the use of patient-reported outcomes and patient experience measures in the area of nutritional care.
