Guest of Honour: Dr Pierre Dechamps, Adviser - Energy and Climate Change, Bureau of European Policy Advisers to President Barroso, European Commission

As doubts persist about the causes and future impact of climate change, this seminar will explore how government and the scientific community can foster better engagement with the public on issues around climate change. Timed to coincide with the build up to the next key United Nations climate change summit in Mexico, the seminar will also examine what is likely to be achieved at this set of discussions - particularly with reference to the global public perception of climate change. We also expect discussion on how dialogue and coordination on climate change can be improved between government and the private sector in the development and implementation of climate change policy.

We are delighted that Professor Kevin Anderson, Research Director, Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research; Dr Pierre Dechamps, Adviser - Energy and Climate Change, Bureau of European Policy Advisers to President Barroso, European Commission and Dr Benny Peiser, Director, The Global Warming Policy Foundation have kindly agreed to deliver keynote addresses at this seminar.

Other confirmed speakers include: Jon Fletcher, Director, Brook Lyndhurst; Richard Gledhill, Global Leader Climate Change & Carbon Market Services, PricewaterhouseCoopers; Edward Langley, Head of Environment Research, Ipsos MORI; Dr Douglas Parr, Chief Scientist, Greenpeace; Andrew Pendleton, Senior Research Fellow, Institute for Public Policy Research; Rebekah Phillips, Senior Policy Adviser, Green Alliance; Dr Vicky Pope, Head of Climate Change Advice, Met Office; Colin Robertson, Sustainability Manager, NG Bailey and Iain Watt, Partner, Irbaris.
