As Parliament completes its investigation into recent high profile data leaks, and with stories of lost laptops and missing records rarely out of the headlines, this timely seminar, organised in consultation with the Information Commissioner’s Office, will look at the how data can be held securely, and how public policy may be developed to protect personal information.

Next Generation Access - Investment and Deployment

Six months on from the Government’s summit on Next Generation Broadband, this seminar will assess progress so far, with a focus on issues around fibre to the home. Planned sessions look at the market for high speed access both for business and consumers, how to encourage investment, and the case for WiFi, WiMAX and other wireless alternatives.

IT in the NHS - five years in

Timing: Q4 2008

Five years in to the National Programme for IT, just two years away from the 2010 'deadline’
for implementation, and with Chief Executive Richard Granger due to depart the programme, this seminar will bring together stakeholders in industry and the health service with policy makers in government and Parliament to discuss progress of the NHS IT project so far, what needs to be done to continue and improve implementation, and steps to be taken to ensure that the 2010 targets are met.
