THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED
This conference will discuss next steps for energy storage in the UK.
It will be an opportunity to assess whether more should be done to support the innovation and development of large scale energy storage - with the Government recently launching its Storage at Scale Competition aimed at supporting innovative large-scale energy storage with a view to decarbonising industry, power, heat and transport.
Delegates will also discuss what more can be done to speed up the process of approval for new energy storage projects with the ongoing government consultation on electricity storage within the planning system - which looks at removing the ‘capacity cap’ to help fast-track energy storage projects in England.
Further sessions will examine the impact of Ofgem’s Targeted Charging Review - aimed at looking at changes to how the costs are recovered by networks when transporting electricity to homes, public organisations and businesses.
With a consultation on the Minded to decision and draft impact assessment recently closed, and concern expressed from industry over the impact of proposed changes, delegates will discuss the next steps for the sector.
Attendees will also discuss the wider investment landscape and draw on examples of best practice when assessing the commercial and practical barriers for further growth in the sector.
We also expect discussion on how best to integrate additional storage capacity into the grid and electric vehicles as part of the wider network.
