The role of the independent sector in healthcare delivery

Morning, Friday, 22nd March 2024

This conference focuses on the independent sector and its role in healthcare delivery into the future.

Stakeholders and policymakers will examine next steps for collaboration on capacity and innovative approaches to addressing backlogs in elective care, following the Government’s Elective recovery taskforce: implementation plan, which incorporates the independent sector as a key component in moving services forward.

The agenda also looks at the outlook for commissioning services, looking at the opportunities and issues following the recently launched Provider Selection Regime.

Those attending will consider options for wider collaboration between the NHS and independent providers, and priorities for the independent sector in tackling elective care backlogs and supporting recovery moving forward. They will also discuss the relationship between independent sector and integrated care systems.

Further sessions in the agenda focus on patient choice and accessibility, and supporting the workforce, as well as priorities for regulation and standards.

There will also be discussion on alternative options for policy on the scope and nature of independent sector involvement in healthcare, and implications for the NHS, private providers and patients.

We are pleased to be able to include keynote sessions with: David Hare, Chief Executive, Independent Healthcare Providers Network; and James Roach, Managing Director, Conclusio.
