Preparing young people for work - careers education, training and routes into employment

Thursday, 9th February 2017

Central London

THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED

Following Ofsted’s recent report Getting ready for work, which called on Government to do more to promote enterprise education in schools, this conference will examine the next steps that can be taken to ensure that young people can gain the skills or experience they need to enter the world of work.

It also comes as the Government prepares to announce its comprehensive careers strategy, expected to be published in 2017, and delegates will consider how to increase the number and quality of work experience placements available for young people, further opportunities for improving employability skills and how these skills can best be demonstrated to employers outside of qualifications.

The conference will provide an opportunity to discuss the Government’s new mentoring campaign, lead by the Careers and Enterprise Company, which is aimed at young people most at risk of dropping out of education, or of underachievement, and seeks to create a long-term mentoring culture across the country.
