This seminar will assess opportunities for UK transport to integrate new technologies, utilise big data and the policy requirements for the integration of autonomous vehicles and transformation of transport systems.
With the Transport Minister calling for a new regulatory framework for the development of autonomous and connected vehicles in evidence presented to the Science and Technology Committee’s Autonomous vehicles inquiry - as well as £390 million investment in future transport technology in the Autumn Statement, and with the Modern Transport Bill expected to include further measures to increase investment in the next generation of transport - delegates will discuss next steps and implementation for innovative transport technology in the 21st Century.
Sessions look at latest innovation, supply chain and competition trial progress and opportunities, and more widely at the future shape of UK transport. With new vehicle standards coming into force, delegates will also consider the relationship between changing consumer behaviours and targets to reduce climate change, pollution and costs for passengers and commuters, as well as reducing congestion and demand.
