THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED
The future of school buildings and key issues around capital expenditure in education will be the focus for this timely seminar.
Delegates will consider the impact of the Priority Schools Building Programme (PSBP) on those schools allocated funding and look ahead to phase two. This follows the release of the Department for Education’s annual update, which suggests both a possible overspend for its first phase and a delay for the project.
The seminar will be an opportunity to discuss the programme’s progress and prospects as the National Audit Office finalises its performance assessment. It also follows the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA) report Better Spaces for Learning, calling for changes in communication between schools, the Education Funding Agency, designers and builders, and for more flexibility in the design of schools.
Sessions also look at steps that can be taken to support schools not included in PSBP but still require improvements, and innovative approaches to financing the refurbishment and building of schools.
