Next steps for policy on obesity: reformulation, portion size and promoting healthy lifestyles

Morning, Wednesday, 17th October 2018

Central London

THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED

This seminar will be an opportunity for delegates to discuss the next steps for policy on obesity.

Delegates will discuss the role of product reformulation, changes to portion sizing and providing healthier alternatives in light of Public Health England’s Calorie reduction: the scope and ambition for action and the ongoing Sugar Reduction programme.

Sessions will also consider the role that the retailer and the out-of-home sector can play in tackling obesity and offering healthy choices, including discussion on price promotion of high fat, sugar and salt foods.

There will also be discussion regarding the next steps for improving childhood obesity rates beyond the Government’s childhood obesity plan, including how schools and parents can educate children as well as the priorities for reducing inequalities and regional variations across the UK, particularly in hard-to-reach communities.
