Next steps for policy on tackling obesity: reformulation, calorie reduction and driving behaviour change

Morning, Wednesday, 17th October 2018

Central London

THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED

This seminar is bringing together policymakers with key stakeholders to assess latest developments and next steps for tackling obesity in England - looking at business practice and policy options.

With Public Health England challenging the food industry to reduce calories in products consumed by families by 20% by 2024 - and as the programme prepares to engage with the food industry and report back in mid-2019 - delegates will discuss latest thinking and developments in product reformulation, changes to portion sizing and providing healthier alternatives.

We also expect discussion on the soft drinks industry levy, the ongoing Sugar Reduction programme - with results from its first year due shortly - and the Mayor of London’s announcement of a Child Obesity Taskforce, aimed at reducing childhood obesity and health inequality. Delegates will examine further issues in improving public health, such as reducing regional variation and driving behaviour change.
