THIS EVENT IS CPD CERTIFIED
This seminar will be a timely opportunity to discuss the next steps for mental health services in England.
Delegates will assess priorities for the funding of mental health services - following the Prime Minister’s recent commitment to improve access to mental health services in her speech on the 5 year NHS funding plan - and consider latest thinking on how the Government’s goal of achieving parity of esteem between mental and physical health can be achieved.
Attendees will also consider the steps that need to be taken to improve the quality of care and deliver on the nearly £1 billion of potential efficiency savings that could be made by 2020/21, identified in Lord Carter’s review into unwarranted variations in mental health and community health services.
Further sessions will assess the priorities for the mental health workforce and progress on the implementation of the mental health workforce plan for England.
The agenda also includes discussion on children and young people’s mental health services, in light of the Government’s response to the Transforming children and young people’s mental health provision: a green paper consultation and the National Audit Office’s upcoming report considering the Government’s progress on implementing its ambitions for more sustainable and effective mental health services for children and young people.
