Food and packaging waste reduction policy - investment, innovation and enforcement

This seminar will bring together policymakers and key stakeholders across the food supply chain to discuss the next steps for reducing food and packaging waste in the UK.


Sessions will discuss the way forward for avoidable waste prevention, including changing consumer behaviour, promoting further collaboration and innovation across the food industry, and priorities for meeting WRAP’s Courtald Commitment 2025 to reduce resource consumption in the food supply chain by 20% by 2025.


Further sessions will assess priorities for promoting and enforcing the waste hierarchy, as well as investment challenges and opportunities for more sustainable waste management practices. Discussion will also look at UK-wide perspectives on food waste policy including lessons learnt from devolved and international approaches.
