This conference discussed issues around the implementation of the teacher recruitment and retention strategy as well as the priorities for supporting effective teacher recruitment and retention in England.

The agenda brought out latest thinking on attracting future teachers into ITE, incentivising newly qualified teachers to enter and remain in the profession, and creating pathways for future career development.

Discussion also focused on how Government, schools, universities and other stakeholders can work together to achieve success in these areas, and will consider how institutions could alleviate some of the key stress points that have led to reductions in the recruitment and retention of teachers.
