Next steps for UK TNE - quality assurance, market opportunities, competitiveness, and the longer-term future

Morning, Thursday, 9th December 2021

***Full-scale policy conference taking place online***

This conference will examine priorities for the UK’s transnational education (TNE) provision and exports in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the UK leaving the EU, and the introduction of the TNE Quality Enhancement Scheme from the QAA.

It will be an opportunity to analyse mechanisms for quality assurance and their potential knock-on effects on exports - as well as consider opportunities for growth and expansion, and discuss wider priorities for UK TNE.

We are pleased to be able to include keynote sessions, including:

  • Priorities for quality assurance in UK TNE - with Dr Abi Coveney, Senior Risk Manager, OfS; and Rosie Kennedy, Policy Specialist, QAA Global
  • Collaborating internationally on quality assurance - with Professor Youhansen Eid, President, National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, Egypt
  • Policy priorities for the growth of UK TNE - with Aisling Conboy, Higher Education Specialist, Education Team, Department for International Trade
  • Moving forward from the impact of the pandemic and the long-term outlook for UK transnational education - with Eduardo Ramos, Head of Transnational Education, Universities UK International

There will also be panels on:

  • Quality and best practice - country visits, working with local regulators, and the future for metrics
  • Market opportunities - UK competitiveness, partnerships, and strategies for revenue growth
