This seminar examined key issues for the UK renewables sector - including meeting the renewable generation and carbon budget targets set by the UK Government and the role of clean energy in the UK energy mix going forward.
Delegates discussed what is needed to support the renewables sector during the transition to a low-carbon economy, including new sources of investment and innovative funding methods. In light of the ongoing Contracts for Difference allocation round, sessions also looked at the next steps for the sector following the decision to reduce subsidies.
Further sessions also looked at the policy environment including the post-election prospects for the industry, as well as the implications of leaving the EU for renewable policy and what support will exist for projects. The agenda also looked at latest developments in technology, including advances in storage and home renewable generation.
