Bringing together policymakers with key stakeholders, this seminar was an opportunity to assess the future policy landscape for pharmacy services in England.
Delegates considered recommendations in the NHS England commissioned Independent Review of Community Pharmacy Clinical Services, also known as the Murray Review - including proposals to redesign Medicine Use Reviews to include ongoing monitoring and regular patient follow-up - as well as next steps for service reform.
There was also discussion on progress of the Pharmacy Integration Fund in supporting the development of clinical pharmacy practice in a wider range of primary care settings, and its impact on independent community pharmacy.
Further sessions focused on key issues for developing the workforce to meet future requirements in the context of increased use of informatics and automation, and the role of pharmacy in Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs).
