This timely seminar looked at the future of legal technology and how its development will affect both established and new legal firms in the UK, the overall growth of the sector, and the service to clients.
It followed the recent Government announcement of a series of new AI-related research projects aimed at improving the collaboration of law firms with technology suppliers, businesses and within the legal sector to improve efficiency and the consumer experience.
The agenda included discussion on addressing regulatory and other barriers, as well as how to support innovation, investment and international competitiveness.
It came as Lord Keen led the Government’s drive with the Law Society to maximise the impact of lawtech in supporting growth in the UK legal sector through the establishment of the LawTech Panel.
Delegates will also look at how partnerships can be fostered between law firms, the technology sector and higher education to widen the inclusion of legal tech in university courses to help the workforce adapt to the needs of the market.
