December 2018

Price: £95 PLUS VAT
Format: DOWNLOADABLE PDF

This conference brought together policymakers and stakeholders to discuss the next steps for infrastructure projects across the UK - looking at investment, planning and delivery.

Delegates assessed future options for infrastructure policy - drawing together priorities for major projects across sectors involved in transport, telecoms, energy and the environment - following the publication of the NIA.

The conference examined the latest thinking on key issues for investment, including tackling barriers to financing long-term projects, the role of government investment, the future for Public-Private Partnerships and priorities for building investor confidence.

Following the government’s interim-response to the NIA, attendees looked at the opportunities for incorporating the NIA’s recommendations - such as those on Crossrail 2 and Northern Powerhouse Rail - into the National Infrastructure and Construction Pipeline, and the next steps for delivery.

The agenda also examined opportunities for overcoming challenges in the planning process for new infrastructure and increasing the number of projects approved - alongside discussion on how to effectively navigate the system, and issues for collaborative working and engaging with key stakeholders throughout the process.

Further sessions looked at the role of Metro Mayors and combined authorities in securing funding and delivering key infrastructure to drive regional growth and regeneration.
