Delegates evaluated the future of the freight sector, and the wider challenges facing the industry in the UK.
Discussion took place on key developments affecting the sector, its customers and partners in infrastructure. With the publication of the Transport for the North Freight and Logistics Report, and the publication of the Midlands Connect Strategy, sessions also looked at the development of regional transport strategies and potential for national co-ordination and strategy on issues such as congestion and road infrastructure development.
Further sessions looked at priorities for environmental sustainability in the sector following the rollout of Low Emission Zones around the country, as well as opportunities for new vehicle designs and implementation of technologies to minimise accidents in urban areas, as well as the future of European emissions standards and across fleets.
