The future of Degree Apprenticeships (DA) in England was considered by delegates at this conference.
It followed the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy in early 2017, and came at a time when many employers were expressing concern at their ability to meet their higher-level skills needs, post-Brexit.
Delegates discussed the lessons that can be learnt following the first phase of funding from the Degree Apprenticeships Development Fund and priorities for phase 2.
Further sessions considered the challenges for maintaining the quality of programmes, engaging with young people and employers, as well the lessons that can be learnt from higher-level apprenticeship programmes from other countries.
The seminar brought together policymakers with key stakeholders including universities, FE colleges, representatives of employers and trade unions, careers advisors, trade and professional associations, academics, and members of the national and trade press.
