This seminar looked at innovative practice in curriculum design with case studies from universities across the UK and beyond.
It was timed ahead of the introduction of the Teaching Excellence Framework which included assessment of curriculum design.
The agenda centred on three major trends in curriculum design - internationalising the curriculum to encompass global breadth of thought and content covered; improving the links with industry with a focus on employability; and ensuring inclusivity in the design of the curriculum so that it is both accessible to all and takes account of students’ differing backgrounds. Delegates examined examples of best practice and discussed the challenges for implementing such design principles in all HE courses.
