With a growing demand for sustainable solutions to increasing food production, this seminar assessed progress and priorities as the UK Agricultural Technologies Strategy moves into its fourth year of implementation.
It was also a timely opportunity for policymakers and stakeholders to discuss the future policy landscape, and prospective challenges for investment and creating commercial opportunities for UK businesses in light of the EU referendum.
Further discussion included the progress made with the agri-tech catalyst projects as it moves into its fifth round of funding and the launch of the three new Centres for Agricultural Innovation, which focus on improving crop health and protection, creating new livestock technology, and increasing productivity and sustainability through precision farming.
Further sessions looked at how best to promote UK agri-tech abroad; what more can be done to attract, develop and retain highly skilled workers and wider Government and leadership council priorities for improving agricultural technology.
