This seminar discussed key priorities for the future of post-16 Mathematics - including the next steps for improving uptake of post-16 mathematics and evaluating the implementation of the new Mathematics A-Levels.
In light of the Government announcement of the Advanced Maths Premium, and the Autumn Budget committing £18 million to fund the creation of further specialist Maths schools, delegates assessed the impact on the quality and uptake of post-16 Maths this would have, as well as other solutions for improving the uptake of Mathematics.
Delegates also assessed priorities for ensuring a high quality of quantitative skills provision in the new T-levels, and the future for functional skills qualifications.
Further sessions focused on recruitment and professional development issues, and innovative new approaches to training that could be considered.
